Summary: This is a saga, and it has five series including Redemption, Firstborn, Sunrise, Above the Line, and Bailey Flanigan. Every single series is about the Baxter family at the core, but each one also brings in a new cast of characters. Redemption is all about the Baxter family, and struggles with love and grief are present throughout it. Firstborn is about a famous actor named Dayne Matthews, and his relationship with a friend of the Baxters. Sunrise is about Katy and Dayne getting married and figuring out life as celebrities, and trying to be normal people. Above the Line is about a family who comes to the Baxter's town to film a movie, and the family's struggles while there. Bailey Flanigan is from the point of view of... Bailey Flanigan, a struggling actress, trying to break into the spotlight, while finding love.
Sexual content: One of the kids, Ashley, has a kid that she got pregnant with in her early twenties, and in Remember the narration explains who the father was. It ends up having been a french artist who paints her. In Return, Luke and his girlfriend have a scene where they have sex, but it doesn't explain anything. They start making out, and then the next thing it says is that Luke puts his clothes back on and leaves. Reagan ends up pregnant. There's a scene in Firstborn, where Katy and Dayne are forced to spend the night together, but nothing happens.
Note: I actually skipped Take Two, because my mom and I were reading the series together, and didn't want me reading it. I hear it contains drunken parties, and the main character moves in with her boyfriend, and has sex once or twice, winding up pregnant.
Morals: This is a great book which points you to Christ, no matter what you're going through. It deals with sex before marriage, heartbreak, tragedy, family, death, and redemption.
