Summary: Rose is different from the rest of her family- she's adventurous, daring, and has a longing for travel. One day, her family is visited by a bear who demands Rose comes back with him to his home. The rest of the family insists she stays, but she sacrifices herself for her family's safety, and goes with the bear. He takes her to his home, and she spends her days and weeks wondering who exactly this bear is.
Magic: The bear has been cursed by a witch. He was once a little boy, whom the witch turned into a bear because she wanted to trick him into falling in love with her. Also, Rose's mother is really superstitious, and makes every single one of her decisions based off of superstitions- even Rose's name was given to her because of superstitions.
Morals: Rose's mother is constantly trying to suppress her adventurous spirit, but despite this, Rose's spirit is strengthened, and she goes out to do what she wants.
